ABOUT THE WORKSHOP EXPERIENCE
BPW has created a unique workshop experience taking you deep inside the labyrinth maze of Chinatown uncovering the characters and unusual sights that are usually hidden to the ordinary visitor.
Not only will you get the chance to challenge your photography skills you will have an authentic experience meeting local people, seeing local custom and the odd unexpected surprise or two.
“Journeys into the heart of Chinatown and beyond”
“BPW is designed to be directly aimed at the photographing experience, whether you are just starting out using a camera or a professional photographer looking to sharpen under-utilized skills.
Photography is a shared experience between the ‘act of photographing’ and the ‘photographers relationship within the environment’.
Each time we step out into the world to take photos either for pleasure or for work, those two factors are always in force. The quality of our images can be measured by how well the photographer synchronizes with these two factors”. - Nick McGrath
Workshop Information
Street Workshops
Every workshop is customized for each participant For those that want to achieve specific outcomes, I will help you achieve these by using practical exercises during the urban exploration. My aim is for you to leave a workshop with more skills and confidence than you arrived with.
Visual Communications
This can be an added feature to the workshop or done separately. Using a technique I have developed called “circular editing” we will collect and layer a number of images that we will use to construct and build a sequence that achieves the full potential of your visual work.
Folio Enhancements
Sincere and constructive criticism by receiving advice to nurture and grow confidence in your own work is essential to developing confidence in your decision making, developing your eye and your visual psychology. We will discuss possibilities of your work from various perspectives based on mood, tone, emotion and other narratives that effect the human condition.
